What to send us
The more we know up front, the more accurate the quote — but don't worry if you don't have everything. We can price from a sketch and a conversation just as well as from a full drawing package. Useful things to include:
- Drawings, if you have them.An architect's plan or a structural engineer's design gives us sizes, loadings and connections.
- Photographs of the existing building where the work is an alteration, extension or replacement.
- Rough dimensions — span, height, and the opening or area involved.
- Finish and location. Whether the steel is inside or out, and whether it will be on show, changes the specification.
- Your programme. When you need it on site, and any fixed dates such as an opening or a shutdown.
- Access. Restricted delivery windows, craneage limits or a live site all affect how we plan the work.
What happens next
Your enquiry goes straight to our estimating team. We'll come back to you to confirm the scope and pick up anything that isn't clear, then issue a written quotation setting out what is included, the finish, and the lead time.
If the project needs a site survey we'll arrange one before quoting — for alterations to an existing building that is usually the only way to price it properly, because what was drawn and what was built are rarely the same.
For structural work you will also need a structural engineer's design and building regulations approval. We fabricate and install to that design rather than replacing it — if you haven't got that far yet, say so and we'll explain what's needed. Our guides cover the common questions.
